  1. Collection and Storage of Personal Data as well as Type and Purpose of Said’s Use
    a) When Visiting vietnamazing.eu
    When you visit our website, www.vietnamazing.eu, the browser you use automatically sends information to our website’s server.

    This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is collected without your intervention and stored until automatically deleted:

    IP address of the inquiring computer,
    Date and time of access,
    Name and URL of the accessed file,
    Website from which the inquiry was made (referrer URL),
    Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer as well as the name of your access provider.

    The aforementioned data is processed by us for the following purposes:

    to ensure a smooth connection to the website,
    to ensure a comfortable use of our website,
    to evaluate our system security and stability as well as
    for other administrative purposes.

    The legal basis for the data processing is GDPR Art. 6 (1)(f). Our legitimate interests for data collection are those listed above. Under no circumstances do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person.

  1. b) Contacting Us
    Should you have questions of any kind, we offer you the possibility to contact us via the e-mail addresses provided on www.vietnamazing.eu. When doing so, you must provide a valid e-mail address so that we know from whom the inquiry originated and so that we can answer it. Further information can be provided voluntarily.

    Data processing for the purpose of contacting us is based on your voluntarily given consent in accordance with GDPR Art. 6 (1)(a).

    Your personal data stored to process your request will be deleted after the completion of your request.

  1. c) Donations
    You have the option of donating to the project by making a monetary donation to us via PayPal or supporting the project by making a purchase from our Spreadshop shop.

    We process the following personal data to process your donations:

    E-mail address
    Telephone number
    Date of donation or purchase
    Transaction number (PayPal)
    Order number (spreadshop)
    Amount of money

    This data is processed in accordance with GDPR Art. 6 (1)(b) and Art. 6 (1)(c) for donor and payment service provider accounting of donations, creation and sending of proof of payment as well as for the fulfillment of legal bookkeeping requirements.

Said data will be deleted immediately after expiry of the statutory retention period of ten years as per GDPR Art. 17 (3)(b) and § 147 Para. 3 AO. The period begins with the end of the calendar year in which the document was created.

  1. d) Membership
    Zoos and similar institutions have the possibility to register with the website. When registering, the institution’s representative must provide the following mandatory personal data:

    First and last name
    E-mail address
    Company name
    Job description

    Based on this information, we will check whether you are eligible to receive a membership.

    Your data will be processed on the basis of your consent pursuant to GDPR Art. 6 (1)(a) DSGVO.

    Your data will be deleted as soon as you ask us to do so.

  1. e) Newsletter
    We will be happy to inform you at regular intervals about our latest developments by means of a newsletter. The newsletter can only be received by you if you have (1) registered to recieve the newsletter and (2) have provided us a valid e-mail address.

    The newsletter is sent by the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), which in turn uses Selligent SA’s Campaign Monitor service. For the purpose of sending the newsletter out, your personal data will be passed on to them.

    The collected data will be stored as long as you wish to receive the newsletter. If you ask to no longer receive the newsletter, all newsletter related personal data will be deleted immediately.

    We use cookies on our site. These are small files that are automatically created by your browser and stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, or similar) when you visit our site. It cannot be ruled out that providers based in the EU may transfer your data to the USA or other non-EU countries for further processing. The processing of your personal data on social networks or platforms, including the transfer of your personal data to the operator of the platform in their respective non-EU countries, is based on your (implied) consent pursuant to GDPR Art. 6 (1)(a) and Art. 49 (1)(a).

We expressly point out that no assurances can be made that the protections afforded by the General Data Protection Regulation will available if your personal data is processed in an insecure third country (e.g. USA). In particular, due to legal requirements in the respective third country, the operator may be forced to disclose your personal data to authorities and other government institutions.

pursuant to GDPR Art. 17, to request the erasure of your personal data stored by us, unless the processing is necessary for the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims;
